Dan and I attempted a game of Scrabble last night but started too late. One advantage to owning the travel version of Scrabble is that you can play it on the couch or anywhere and the tiles won't slip around. (We literally just pass the board back and forth to each other and used to bring it on airplanes...before Jackson, that is.) One disadvantage to owning the travel version of Scrabble is that you can play it on the couch or anywhere...and fall asleep!
Dan tried, but could not stay awake for this game. And like a good wife (heehee), I took the opportunity to sneak behind him and photograph his letters. Once he reads this post, I'm sure this game will be toast (another advantage: we can set aside our games for later) since he'll know that I know, but it was worth a try. Poor guy, he was sitting there suffering with that big, expensive "Q" and I've got all the "U's."
He never really stood a chance with this game though, since I started us off with AVENGED in the center. As the starter word, it got the double-word-score star and used up all of my letters to boot. Eighty points right off the bat. Beat that! It only got worse for Dan as I kept scoring big ones like EXTRAS and JOB too. Never underestimate the power of a three-letter word. J's and B's are expensive letters!
I received this awesome surprise gift from a Farmgirl friend yesterday. She sent it as a (completely unnecessary, but totally sweet!) thank-you gift for coordinating the Spring Dishcloth Swap over at MaryJanesFarm and what a treat it was! A super adorable crocheted dishcloth along with a special handmade bracelet and seeds from her garden in her own packaging. Too cool! Now I really can't wait for spring. Except, the snow is still coming down!
My sewing machine is out today and I'm plowing through a few little surprise projects. You all know that sewing is not my preferred craft, but it is sure fun to whip out a few cute things with some fun fabrics now and again. Makes me want to go back to Digs to dig through their vintage button boxes some more!
Show and tell to follow. Now, back to the crafting room!

Fun! Melissa (my site mate)
and I sometimes play Scrabble, Spanish version. She usually beats
me but last time I was closer.
How great about Jack walking! He looks so happy!
