For Today...
Outside my Window...a very chilly morning, the first of its kind since last March.
I am thinking...that we have it pretty darn good around here.
From the learning rooms...still working on minimizing my canning learning curve, getting there.
I am thankful for...our home and our "stuff," that we've been able to - and continue to - question the need for a lot of our material possessions and either get rid of it or embrace it as a result. I am thankful to not have "crap" around "just because."
From the kitchen...5 half-pints of apple butter, 2 loaves of multi-grain bread baked with my husband last night and slow-cooker Greek stuffed peppers for dinner.
I am wearing...black yoga pants (though I don't do yoga), kelly green long-sleeved t-shirt, handknit socks, wool clogs.
I am reading...The Great Depression and the New Deal by Robert F. Himmelberg and The Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan
I am hoping...that Barack Obama wins the presidency next week.
I am creating...a world that I am proud to share with my kids.
I am hearing...my baby stirring in her crib and her brother humming in his bed...good morning...
Around the house...laundry is done (for now), bills are paid (for now), and things are generally clean...I may actually be able to knit today.
One of my favorite things..."my time" in the morning to eat breakfast and compute before the day starts...not always fun to get up early, but worth it in the long run.
A few plans for the rest of the week...carving pumpkins, roasting the seeds, making chili, preparing for Dan's birthday on Saturday, cleaning up for Rob's visit this weekend...looking forward to these days together!
