Tag! You're IT!

I'm glad I checked out Aunt Jenny's blog today because I got tagged! A fun blog game:

New one from Clare...
It's a Book Tag, and since I have a few new books to read, it's perfect!
1. Grab the nearest book. Don't think, just the nearest book...
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the next 3 sentences on your blog (Please include the book and author) along with these instructions.
5. Don't you dare dig for that "cool" or "intellectual" book in your closet! I know you were thinking about it! Just pick up whatever is closest.
6. Tag three people.
Okay, here we go!

"Beyond Stitch & Bitch: Reflections on Knitting and Life" by Afi-Odelia E. Scruggs
...Miles away in Ottawa, another group joined hundreds of knitted squares to represent the safety net of social services. The participants believed that governmental programs are endangered by calls for privatization, and they were making the clicking of their needles heard. My friends and I are committed to women's rights, but we had never thought about using knitting to fight the system or gain equality...

I have to admit that I did want to reach for a book from the bookshelf just across the room, but since I was just sitting down to read this new library book, it was literally right next to me. It's a great book so far. I'm not to page 123 yet, but that little snippet makes me want to keep reading!

So, I'm off to bed with a book and I hereby tag Mama Grouch, Knittymama and Becca over at Lostview Farm. Happy reading!

Catherine - I love the tag idea and will definitely respond soon, trying my darndest not to reach for a favorite book. Chances are, once I get home and actually tackle this task, I'll be faced with an arm's reach choice of Storey's Basic Country Skills or something about the oil crisis or permaculture that Chris left on the desk. :D You are such a loyal blogger - an inspiration!
