I just started Jackson's new spring/fall hoodie with my new recycled cotton yarn from Knit One, Crochet Too and *love* it. So far, it's flying too. Very easy construction with a pick-up hood, garter button placket in front and side slits at the garter edge on the bottom. (Pattern: Knitting Pure & Simple, "Children's Tunic" #232)
I was having a few issues with gauge (what Knitter doesn't?) but my Tuesday Night Knitting Group encouraged me to just do it anyway. Children will always grow into something, right? This is looking on track to fit him this spring and since it's top-down and knit in one piece with raglan sleeves, I'll be able to adjust the sleeve and body length to fit. (And, rip out the bind-off edge and add more later if need be.)
This cotton is *so* soft and the color is *so* rich for being "just brown." I'm not holding my breath that this will be finished this weekend, but I can't help but smile about knitting a sweater for my boy in a recycled cotton yarn called "Earth" right around Earth Day. 'Round and 'round and 'round I go.

It sounds like it's going to be a great sweater! I love the KP&S sweaters - I just wish they would get better pictures on the patterns, so they looked more professional and appealing...
The colour are lovely. Waiting to see it done :)
