• Love our Nature Babies class through the Minneapolis Park & Rec Board. Love that Jackson got to see and touch hissing cockroaches (he exclaimed "BZZZ! BEE!" when he saw it...uh, not exactly sweetie...), a (nice, cute, soft) domestic rat, and a painted turtle. Loved the harvest/Halloween theme today and love the small pumpkin that he got to take home.
• Love baking. Love the smell in my house this afternoon with chocolate-cappuccino bars cooling and banana bread in the oven. Love that pumpkin pies, harvest soup and homemade dinner rolls are on the line-up for tomorrow to share with our good friends tomorrow evening and Sunday.
• Love that I have a date with my boys tonight to go and play/walk around/explore Uptown. Love that I can take Jackson to the same places that I've been hanging around since I was in high school. Love seeing it all through his eyes and watching his excitement at the smallest things. (Love that we're going by bus because I'm really sick of driving everywhere this week!!)
• Love that when I tried to teach Jackson to say my name, he said "MAOW!" instead. (Yes, he's calling me Mommy, but we were just going through family names and I threw Catherine in the mix. He definitely knows his cat sounds!)
(photos this weekend, I promise...)
love, friday
