I think...

...it really sucks that the one night that both of our children decided to sleep soundly through the night is the very same night that our cat decided to wake us up by puking on our bed. The same night that we were sleeping soundly ourselves with just a sheet to cover our legs since it was a beautiful summer night. Cat puke soaks through thin sheets very quickly, in case you're wondering (straight through to the mattress pad, in our case). And we were both wondering why we awoke to such a weird, cold, clammy feeling on our legs until Dan sprang out of bed (I followed shortly thereafter, once my groggy self figured out what the hell was going on) to start cleaning it up, stripping sheets and re-make the bed by flashlight. All the while desperately trying to not wake our sleeping babe with our curse the cat comments that came flying out of our mad, tired and fiercely whispering mouths.

Wish us better luck tonight. We may lock the cat out of our room.

Doesn't that just FIGURE? It's always something, isn't it? Luckily my cats usually do that on the floor. Although there was that time I found some in my duffel bag way back in the closet...

Bad kitty! You need one of these signs, eh?

OMG, the EXACT same thing happened to us a couple of weeks ago. Except it was our dog, and he puked on the floor, not the bed. But it was the middle of the ONLY night in the last YEAR that both of our kids slept in their own beds all night.

We knew that the kids had this sort of ESP going on ("You sleep tonight little sis, I'll take care of waking Mom and Dad"), but we had no idea the dog was in on it too!

That sucks so horribly that I don't even know where to start consoling you!

My cat has been pulling stunts similar to that, waking me up in the middle of the night on the few nights that our son decides he CAN sleep all night in his own bed.

Sympathy, sympathy...
