Love Amelia

Five months ago today, my little baby girl was born. And now look at her! With two teeth to boot! (They just came in on Sunday and Monday.) She's sitting up (with lots of pillows around...), laughing like crazy, talking and - dare I say - yelling a lot (she definitely has an interesting voice...like her brother's), sleeping through the night every night now (in her own bed, no less) and she's just about ready to take off after her brother. Well, okay, maybe not yet. But she won't allow being on her back when her brother is around and has to flip herself over to be able to watch him more closely. You can just tell that she's trying to figure out how to get...over...there...now... to play with him. Soon enough, my love, soon enough.

How big is she? Oh hell, I don't know. I knew Jackson's weight and length at every turn when he was small, but I've already lost track with this one. She is definitely tall and skinny for her age though, ranking very high for length and just around average for weight at each check-up. She's almost doubled her birth weight which is what babies are "supposed" to do by six months, so I'd say we're doing something right. She's VERY interested and ready for solid foods but I'm holding off until after Christmas just for the sheer convenience of not having to pack extra stuff on our trip. But boy! is she making that difficult each night at the dinner table. Those hands! Grab, grab, grab! What's this, Mom? Can I eat it? What's that going into your mouth? Can I have some? Soon enough, my love, soon enough. :)
