Irish Festival

We went to the Irish Festival on Harriet Island in St. Paul yesterday and had an awesome time. Rugby demos, great food, pints outside in the sunshine, sheep herding, bumping into friends, playground, those cute Irish dancers, community booths, a free kids play on the showboat on the Mississippi, and bagpipes:

(Yes, they were actually Irish bagpipes, not Scottish as you would assume. Dan confirmed it with the band leader. Who knew?)

If those are the pipes you saw, then they are not irish pipes! The only indigenous instrument in Ireland would be the illean pipes. My brother makes and plays them - you don't blow into them to inflate them, you pump them with your arm.
