FO Report: egg, bluebird and nest

Yarn: KnitPicks Wool of the Andes
Pattern: "egg to bluebird and a little nest too" from itty bitty toys
Needles:
US5
Date started: 1/3/11
Date finished: 1/5/11

Jackson has been begging me for this little egg-to-bluebird reversible toy since I first picked up this book last year. Given that his 5th birthday is just around the corner, I thought my little nature lover would enjoy this as a gift.
Super cute and super easy to knit. There's absolutely nothing difficult about the reversible aspect of this knit, so don't let that scare you away from casting on! I wish I had a photo to share of the actual reversing process, but I'm a bit limited with my old point-n-shoot on detailed photos. The egg gets tucked inside the bird and vice-versa though, a simple construction. The bird body and egg are the same pattern and they are whipstitched together along an opening on the underside.

I cannot wait to give this to him. He's going to flip!
