No Pudge Love

In true Knitter fashion, I've started another sock. I don't usually have as many works in progress as a lot of folks, but I've been known to juggle a few at once. The gray alpaca cardi is going swell, but I decided I needed a little spurt of something interesting in the midst of all of that stockinette. (I attempted to cast on for the second Badcaul sock, but did it poorly in public settings and got mad at it for now. I'll re-start that one soon enough.)

So, without further ado, Dan's Sock:
Not terribly exciting either, but it's been fun to start a new pattern from scratch again. (It's the Diagonal Cross-Rib from "Favorite Socks.") I am a die-hard Toe-Up Sock Knitter (T.U.S.K.), but thought it would be fun to "go back to the other side" for a project and knit from the cuff down.

No. It's not fun.

I'm already experiencing the "when do I get to the heel?!" impatience that gave me short cuffs so many times before. I'm realizing that I'm a T.U.S.K. because I lack the necessary patience to go the other way! But these are for Dan...and I have a lot of yarn...and I just need to keep knitting the cuff and make it long enough... (Where's that alpaca cardi?... So much for happy distraction.)

Here's a nice distraction though: No Pudge Brownies. If you are a brownie-lover and a fat-hater, then these are the brownies for you! I picked them up at the Wedge Co-op on a whim last week and was SO pleasantly surprised when I baked them up. All you need is 2/3 cup vanilla yogurt to mix in (or applesauce or soy yogurt for the vegan and lactose-intolerant crowds). If you get non-fat yogurt, then these are NON-FAT BROWNIES! I don't do the Weight Watchers point system, but apparently they are only 2-point brownies. This is a good thing, yes?
These brownies are so good that they are making me forget about snapping one of my size 1 Lantern Moon double-points on Dan's sock. Almost...

I love those brownies! If you didn't tell people, they wouldn't know there's no fat! and the socks look great, though I agree that being a TUSK is the way to go. this from someone who's only finished one pair of socks!

The sock pattern is SO pretty..love it! I still havn't tried TUS Knitting..I need to!! I would like to do a pair for my husband ( I have some lovely brown alpaca to use) and ripped out the sock I had started this past summer. I am in a sock pattern rut for sure..toe up sounds so much more fun. I do the same cuff thing. For husband it won't work out..he likes the long cuffs for sure!
One of those brownies sounds so good right now!! I am more of a salty snack eater..but tonight they sound really really good!! And fat free...bonus!!
