Darn It.

This is what happens when you try to do the wash when you're exhausted from a super fun Saturday with the family and a generally great week:
Note to self: hand-knit wool socks made with non-super-wash-wool do not go in the washing machine. They also should not be placed in the laundry basket to go downstairs with the rest of the wash, however innocent said placement is.* Obviously, it is inevitable that the Resident Laundress (with the Mommy Brain) will forget they are in the basket and this heartbreaker will only repeat itself.

*Given the amount of time invested in the knitting of the socks, and the thousands of tiny stitches therein, they are more than deserving of their own separate trip down the stairs held by hand - wouldn't you agree? Perhaps they should just be washed upstairs to avoid this drama completely.
