Yarn: Knit Me Now Warm Woolly, worsted/10-ply, "chokecherry," merino/mohair, a little less than 600 yards (3 skeins)
Pattern: "Forest Canopy Shoulder Shawl" by Susan Lawrence
Gauge: I'm not sure and it's not near me now...
Needles: US8
Size: 72" wingspan, 36" top to bottom
Started: 3/5/09
Finished: 6/1/09
This is my second Forest Canopy Shawl. The first one was knit for my midwife and though I loved it (and she did too), you'll recall that I was never totally satisfied with its size. I knew I had to cast on again someday to try to make a larger one and that someday came this past winter when I stumbled on this gorgeous yarn at the Yarn Harbor in Duluth (travel yarn! not a violation of the terms of the 2009 Yarn Diet!).
This is a great pattern, easy to memorize and fun to knit. This yarn is completely mesmerizing with all of the subtle variations of browns, purples and blues in the "chokecherry" hand-dyed colorway, though the photos do not do it justice (of course). I was never upset with this project and I attribute that mainly to the yarn. 100% delicious.
This one's for me!

It's beautiful and the color looks great on you!
I'm really not a shawl person, but I think this pattern would make a beautiful little shawl to wrap around my neck in winter ;)
It's really pretty and I love that you made something that you love with it:)
